This page is a temporary landing site for the Ultrix-32 version 3.0 turnkey system. The distribution may be found at the following link:
The distribution consists of the operating system distribution media, and a
SIMH expect-script which will automatically install Ultrix-32 on an
emulated microVAX 3900 system, as well two diskless clients are provided which
may boot off of the host system — a VAXstation 3100 Model 30, and a
microVAX II — both of which have a reduced subset of the software which is
installed on the host system.
It has not yet been implemented, but this disribution will have a copy of HUJI NJE installed — as the goal of this “turnkey” kit is to provide a UNIX system for the VAX/VMS system to communicate with, using NJE. Further, an attempt will be made to connect the Ultrix-32 system with an MVS 3.8 system running on a Hercules instance directly via bisync, if it is possible.
